Primary Education · Cycle 3.1 · Writing, illustration and publishing
The RAMS project ‘Creating an Illustrated Book’, led by the publisher and illustrator Claudine Furlano (Zoom Editions), will take place at the Lënster Lycée International School (primary section). This creative residency is aimed at Cycle 3.1 classes.
Over the course of several weeks, the artist will develop a new publishing project with the students for the Post-Z-Book collection, which consists of small illustrated books of around twenty pages that can be sent by post. The students will explore various narrative and visual approaches centred on the themes of nature and sustainability. The project will combine factual information with a narrative and poetic approach accessible to children. This will be an opportunity for both the pupils and the teachers to make the connection with the theme of ‘sustainability’ included in this school year’s lesson plan.
The children will gain an insight into the process of creating a book: the birth of an idea, the development of a story, the creation of illustrations and the various stages leading to the book’s completion.
